JC Project MuSE is committed to delivering high-quality music and sports education to underprivileged primary school children in Hong Kong, equipping them with artistic and physical literacy. JC Project MuSE aims to develop and enhance children's artistic and physical literacy, emotional well-being, and academic advancement through music and sports education, fostering positive whole-person development and bringing about profound changes.

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is responsible for the overall design, planning, and execution of the Tier 2 Continuous Music Training (CMT) portion of the project. The scope of work in CMT focuses on developing and executing comprehensive weekly music training programs, teaching materials, assessments, and continuous curriculum improvement. HKBU provides customised training for music instructors on curriculum execution, instrumental pedagogies, classroom management skills, and working with students with diverse learning needs. The University is also conducting research on the overall impact of the Continuous Music and Sports Training over the course of the project.

Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) - Sports Legacy

“Sports: changing lives, building Olympic dreams”

SF&OC Sports Legacy (SLCL) engages athletes as coaches to promote sports in schools, provide sports training to students and identify students’ sports talent while at the same time helping them to incorporate sports into their daily lifestyle. Through sports training, beneficiary students are exposed to sports knowledge and values, and the spirit of Olympism which can help them build strong minds, discipline, and bodies. This helps boost sports culture in schools as well.

SLCL is committed to nurturing sports participation from an early age and promoting whole-person development. The sports programme is built on scientific research, including literature and practical base review in sports education, ensuring students receive high-quality training and support to develop their athletic potential and a lifelong passion for sports.

Additionally, engaged coaches will receive continuous professional training, enhancing their skills and aligning with the project's evolving needs, fostering a dynamic environment for aspiring athletes.

The Education University of Hong Kong

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) advances research, development, and innovation in teaching and learning. The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts actively fosters a dynamic environment for music and visual arts education, promoting creativity, professional development, and knowledge exchange across communities.

Guided by the concept of 'experiential learning,' the EdUHK team has designed innovative music exploration programmes and appreciation workshops for schools participating in the JC Project MuSE. Delivered in both school-based and extra-curricular settings, these activities ignite students’ curiosity, deepen their artistic appreciation, and nurture creativity. The team has also developed specialised seminars and workshops for teachers and parents, providing insights into the value of arts education and practical strategies to support student development. Together, these initiatives strengthen connections among students, educators, and families while creating an engaging and supportive environment through music and the arts.

Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is recognised as one of Asia’s leading orchestras. Collaborating with world-renowned conductors and soloists, it presents over 150 concerts annually, drawing more than 200,000 music enthusiasts. The HK Phil actively promotes the work of Chinese composers, commissions new compositions, nurtures local talent, and delivers extensive education and community programmes. In 2019, it became the first Asian orchestra to receive the prestigious Gramophone Orchestra of the Year Award from the UK classical music magazine Gramophone.

As a Project Partner of JC Project MuSE, the HK Phil offers School Concerts, Ensemble Visits, Focused Ensemble Visits, Instrumental Masterclasses, Teaching & Learning Kits, and Online Learning Resources to partner schools. These initiatives provide students with direct exposure to classical music, fostering an early appreciation and deeper engagement with the art form.
